Mre Aussies now welcome to work in US

Australians will be able to work and live more easily in the United States after major changes to immigration law approved by the US Congress today.

The US Government has voted to create a new visa called the E3 specifically to allow Australians to live and work in America for up to two years.

Big blue boxes

It used to be I had to have my favorite Swedish food sent to me by relatives and friends. Then one IKEA store opened some 40 miles away. All IKEA stores keep a Swedish food store, and the more or less monthly trips became excuses to buy food. Lots of it.

Now another IKEA store opened only 10 miles away. Life is getting too easy. I kind of miss the good old days of non-instantaneous gratification. . .

The short version

I guess a good place to start is with a short version of the story: I'm Irish, and live and work in Sweden. I moved here at the end of 2001 with my then fiancée (we're married now). She is Swedish. I have never yet felt "homesick" for Ireland, but I do occasionally visit an Irish pub here in Malmö.
